Top tip 21 is all about preparing your new hires for day one. Make sure everyone knows what to expect where to go who to meet and what to do on day one and for the rest of the week if you can, and don't forget about people supporting them. Make sure they know what their role is too. a message from your line manager and Buddy a few days before you start. It's a great idea, but don't believe it to chance. At this stage. It's really important to make sure you've reached out to those who may need more support too; those with disabilities being an obvious demographic. And don't forget all of the things you take for granted but will worry and confound your new hires, such as company systems and maps bamboozling and acronyms and workplace language, lunch options, office access, hot desk policy, dress code, IT setup or how to book time off. Our aim here is to reduce anxiety and increase excitement. So anything that accomplishes that is a great idea.
