Video transcript
We're still on the topic of helping new hires get up to speed in their new role. And your next focus for that should be technical onboarding. This is about helping your new hire to be productive. It pays to remember that just because you've hired someone for their knowledge and experience, doesn't mean they know how to apply them in your organisation. Even experienced hires can become insecure when they suddenly feel like beginners. So, think about how you can give you hires clear goals and share realistic expectations of what you expect of them over the first few months, no matter if they're working on a check out or managing a team of 100. Start with targets you’re confident they can meet and if all goes well gradually increase the level of responsibility. We all love achieving goals and this will help to build trust and confidence while at the same time reducing the chances of stress and anxiety.
