Whether you are hiring grads, interns, or apprentices, first job is, or even giving work experience students a taste of your business and engaging onboarding experience is crucial to their success. That's why for the next couple of months, my top tip videos are going to focus on early careers. Many organizations spend tens of thousands of pounds attracting, assessing, and hiring emerging talent only to drop the ball when it comes to onboarding. This is so sad. I mean, come on. Chances are this is their first real job, so let's make the start a bloody good one. And when I say the start, I mean as soon as they've accepted the offer. Pre-boarding is fundamental to early careers. So if the only thing you are giving your emerging talent after offer is a contract and a load of boring policies to read, think again. Research by the A G R found that the average graduate is now applying for 37 jobs. 37 pre-boarding, which can take up to 10 months for some organizations. Is your time to shine to place your business at the top of the pile and keep reneges on offers that dreaded dropout before day one as low as possible.
