We discussed the importance of pre-boarding in my last tip, and the fact that for emerging talent, it can last upwards of 10 months. In some organisations, that's a long time to keep a new cohort engaged and informed, but it's crucial you do. Otherwise, you'll start to lose the connection they've built with you through that candidate journey so far. Top tip number 28 is all about creating an engagement plan. A way to stay connected with your cohort and keep them engaged over the next few weeks or months. Technology can obviously help here, such as a personalized onboarding portal or a closed social group. The calendar of events face-to-face or online is another must have sessions to build knowledge, champion wellbeing, strengthen relationships, and keep your emerging talent engaged while they finish their studies and prepare to start work.
