I'm back with more ideas and advice for onboarding emerging talent and today. Top tip number 29 is a bit of a no brainer. Tell your talent what to expect now and in the future. Pre-boarding might last 10 months or more. So this is all about managing expectations, reducing anxiety, and building excitement over time. Many organizations we work with are always quick to point out that they don't have all the information yet. This is absolutely fine. Your new talent doesn't need to know every detail, but no information doesn't paint a very good picture and suggests they aren't a priority to your business. An onboarding timeline can work wonders here as can a list of what to expect and when. Just as important is outlining how their onboarding experience will set them up for success. The more engaged they are now, the more they'll connect with your organization and the other new starters in their cohort. That can only be a good thing.
