Video transcript

One of the best things about onboarding early careers is that generally everyone is starting at the same time in a cohort. This gives you the perfect opportunity to build a sense of community amongst your new starters. And that's top tip number 35, like top tip number 34. This can be achieved by bringing people together for face-to-face or online events, giving them access to technology that allows 'em to connect individually or in groups via social walls and instant messaging, as well as building team-based activities into your pre-boarding calendar. One of our clients runs a volunteering day for all grads for one of their corporate charity partners. Another runs monthly catchups for each program, allowing grads to connect with the very people they'll be working with in a few months time. A sense of community of a connection to something more than just a business will obviously work wonders for your dropout rates, but also help people perform better over their first few months.
