Top Tip #12
Video transcript
No matter what your business does or where it is in the world, I'll bet you have difficulties getting your line managers to take ownership of the onboarding of the people who are joining their team. It's a challenge everyone faces, but there are a few things you can do to guarantee their contribution. Things I'll cover off in my next few top tip videos. My first is about inclusion. When you're defining your onboarding experience, top tip number three, particularly the line manager's responsibilities in it, make sure you involve them in the discussion and its development. Whether they're part of the onboarding team, attend a focus group or video call, or simply fill out a survey, their involvement will not only help you gain their buy-in, but also create a process that they find easier to follow and adhere to as they've helped develop it. A little more time invested here at the start will pay dividends when your new experience goes live. Trust me.
